Stunning campervan stop 10 mins from Scarborough
This has to be one of, if not our favourite location to stay, can be a little busy at times but always friendly.
Great coastal walks down to to Scarbourgh or Whitby – if you fancy a good old trek!
Set your alarm for the sunrise, it is breathtaking, be careful of the tide if you explore Cloughton rocks below.

Feels like the edge of the known universe but in a good way, cafe and toilet not far.
Amazing walks along the sea front, great sunrise and a worthwhile 4-mile trek to the lighthouse.
Great place to start a coastal adventure along the East Yorkshire Coast, Flamborough, Bridlington, Hornsea.
Campervan stop in the Moors & close to York
Lovely rural setting in the countryside, very quiet at night but plenty dog walkers in the day.
Plenty of walks through the nearby woods and nature reserve, no restrictions in 2025 but check!
Not too far from York, Driffield, Pickering, with Malton closest and all the shops, pubs and amenities.

Campervan stop in the
middle of Lake District
Perched atop a very picturesque hill, this overnight parking spot has great views but very remote.
Very quiet at night and perfect as a base for exploring nearby Hawes, and Semer Water.

Free roadside parking very close to Ullswater
Ok ok so it’s a roadside parkup but it is very quiet at night and plenty far from the main road.
Tonnes of activities locally, nice walks and a must-experience boat ride to the other side.
Ullswater and the Lakes regularly see fighter jet flyovers, have your phone ready, and your ear buds!
Free overnight parking near Maryport
Another stunning location to stay, busy in the day with dog walkers, but it quiets down later.
Lovely walks along the sea front and good sunset if you are lucky enough to catch it!
Great base to explore the Lake District and avoid the crowds, as it is not too far away.
Cheap parking close to Blackpool
What can you say, beach front parking, sunsets and the incredible allure of Blackpool attractions closeby.
If you like that sort of thing. Very close to Lytham St Annes for all the toilets and amenities.
Lots of beaches and stuff to explore locally to the site, and cheap at £10. (2025!)

Campervan stop near Bamburgh Castle
This site has a 2.2m height barrier and can get busy in the daytime, with a great view of the castle.
Plenty in the nearby Bamburgh, nice pubs, food, but the local shop is a few miles away in the next town.
Loads to explore using this as a base, Lindifarne just up the road and can be seen from the park-up
Free sea view parking next Berwick Beach
Beware of 2.6m height restriction but otherwise great beachside parkup, convenient parkup.
Berwick town and all its history to explore, and nice beach walks, lovely sunrise.
Not far from the Scottish border and tonnes of great locations to explore in southern Scotland.
Free overnight stop overlooking Keilder Water
Another stunning location to stay overnight, busy in the day with dog walkers, but quiet at night.
Lovely walks along the lake and the reservoir barrier, feels comfortably remote.
Very remote area, Falstone nearby with amenities, Hexham large town about 30 mins away.
Free campervan stop close to Otterburn
Lovely peaceful parking area near Otterburn in Northumberland, dog walkers in the day but silent at night.
Great pub down the road called The Coachhouse, also on the van stops map, otherwise very remote.
No known restrictions but check on site, a battlefield and other attractions to explore nearby.

Riverside campervan stop near Scunthorpe/Doncaster
A simple free overnight parking area next to the River Trent, nothing spectacular but slient at night.
Some pubs not far away, Asda and other amenities in Scunthorpe just a 5 min drive away.
Plenty to do nearby if you know where to look, plenty of locations on the map. Walk along the Trent for miles!
Off-road layby in remote area near Saltfleet
Incredibly remote and peaceful/quiet. Right next door to an abandoned medieval church.
We had a great time here, it’s close to the beach and the church is said to be haunted if you have the stomach!
Very close to Saltfleet, not far from Mablethorpe and Grimsby about 30 mins away too.
Free roadside overnight near Lincoln Central
This is essentially on an urban road so perhaps best for smaller, discreet campers for the odd day!
Long nature walks around the country park in front, with a great view of Lincoln and the cathedral.
Spend the evening with the wild horses who call the park and common their home!
Free campervan overnight parking close to Newark
Great free campervan stop for local nature reserve and woodland, dog walkers in the day but quieter at night.
Plenty to do in Newark, which is around 10 minutes drive with everything you need, and Newark Castle to explore.
No known restrictions, but check on site as things can change around these parts.
